About ThemThis organisation provides a range of essential and community services.About the RoleThe HSW Manager is responsible for managing a small team to lead the development and implementation of safety strategies, frameworks and programs to ensure a safe and positive workplace and foster a proactive safety culture.Lead the simplification of the safety management system to ensure it is fit for purpose, practical and pragmatic for end users.Develop and deliver an innovative Wellbeing program that aligns to emerging organisational or sector-based issues including sourcing any contractors required.Lead the implementation of safety assurance systems, processes and procedures, to demonstrate legal compliance and support employees and contractors to adequately assess and manage risk regarding safety, health and wellbeing.Implement, manage and review education and training programs to ensure all Employees, contractors and volunteers are aware of their obligations in meeting health and safety requirements.Oversee Work Cover Claims Management and administration in accordance with the relevant Acts, Regulations and Codes, impartial and outcome focused manner; and manage the relationship with the agent to ensure compliance and service level agreements.To thrive in this role you will have:Tertiary qualifications in OHS or a related discipline.Diverse experience working in an OHS role involving the development of strategies and initiatives to support the effective delivery of an OHS Management System and the development of a risk-aware and proactive safety culture.Previous experience in leading a small team, or demonstrated track history as a Senior Advisor who is ready to take the next step in their career.Proven capacity to partner with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to gain commitment to change, build capability and act as a trusted advisor in OHS.Experience in the development and delivery of Safety & Wellbeing initiatives.About ApplyingAt The Safe Step we embrace individuality and differences in gender, age, ethnicity, race, cultural background, disability, faith and sexual orientation.
