Our client operates across multiple regions and manages a significant portfolio of housing, ensuring safe, secure, and sustainable accommodation for vulnerable communities.About the Role:We are seeking a Housing Officer who will play a key role in supporting individuals and families to access and sustain housing. The role requires exceptional customer service skills, a deep understanding of social housing systems, and the ability to work with clients from diverse backgrounds, including those with complex needs. This is a full-time role with the potential for permanent employment after the contract period. This role will manage a portfolio of 120-130 properties across East Maitland, Raymond Terrace, and Port Stephens. You'll need to be physically fit, energetic, and comfortable spending time both in the office and out on the road.Key Responsibilities:Manage tenancy agreements, property inspections, and lease documentation.Collaborate with maintenance teams for property repairs and upkeep.Address tenant and neighbour complaints, managing rent and arrears.Represent our client at NCAT hearings and handle end-of-tenancy processes.Work closely with support teams to sustain tenancies and provide exceptional tenant service.Engage with sensitivity and empathy, building and maintaining effective relationships in a non-judgmental and positive manner.What they Offer:12-18 month contract, with the potential to convert into a permanent role.Competitive pay based on a 35-hour week.9-day fortnight with alternating WFH days and RDOs.Not-for-profit salary sacrifice.Vehicle provided through salary sacrifice.Work with a supportive team in a highly respected community organisation.Requirements:Experience in property or tenancy management.Relevant qualifications in Community Services, Social Housing, or equivalent experience.Familiarity with NSW Tenancy legislation (preferred).Exceptional communication and time management skills.Strong ability to engage and support individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those with vulnerable and complex needs.Current NSW Driver's License.Experience using SDM, Microsoft platforms, and inspection tools (preferred).Ready to Apply?Hunter Recruitment Group is proud to partner with our client in recruiting for this important role.
