About the role
As a Horticulturist with Reclaimed Spaces, you will play a vital role in the construction and maintenance of wetlands and drainage channels. This full-time position is based in the north west of Melbourne and involves hands-on work in the field.
What you will be doing Soil preparation and improvementPreparing and maintaining garden bedsSetting out hardscape and softscape worksPlanting aquatic and terrestrial plantsPerforming regular maintenance tasks such as pruning and weeding Monitoring plant health, as well as identifying and treating pests or diseasesCarrying out manual labour tasks such as digging, lifting, and transporting materialsCollaborating with the broader team to ensure projects are completed to the highest standardBringing energy to work and actively participating to achieve team outcomes What we are looking for Formal qualifications in horticulture, landscaping or a related fieldHands-on experience working as a horticulturist or gardenerStrong knowledge of native plants, weeds, pests & diseasesExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving skillsExceptional communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a teamGood time management and organisational skillsA passion for wetlands and waterwaysA valid driver's licence and reliable vehicleA willingness to travel throughout the Melbourne metro area; while most of our commercial sites are in the north west, you will at times be required to travel to our head office in Reservoir and sites in the inner north.
