What does this role do?
The Assistant Venue Manager (AVM) at Funlab is responsible for the day to day shift operations at their venue. It is the aim of the AVM to drive revenue on every shift, manage shift labour and stock controls, and ensure the casual team members are directed and motivated to share the Funlab experience with every guest.

The AVM role is part of a continual development program within the Funlab network to build and strengthen knowledge of all areas of the business, following the Management Roadmap for your brand and ensure you are becoming a balanced leader ready to progress further at Funlab. Your Venue Manager will work closely with you to train and coach you in all areas of the business - but remember that 'improvement' starts with i.
What are the main things this role focuses on? OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE Every shift is set up for success: Shift management doc is completed Guest centric doc is completed Shift team is well briefed on the daily sales targets and shift goal and engaged to deliver the Funlab experience Team breaks are planned out and taken in accordance with legislation Every shift is managed to maximise the Funlab experience:A front of house guest focus is maintained All brand-specific service standards, including reception, functions, food and beverage, are met All Funlab policies and procedures are upheld Compliance with food safety standards and liquor licensing requirements Revenue targets are actively driven Any technical & equipment issues identified are quickly addressed General venue presentation standards (including lighting and AV) are met Cash management and daily reporting procedures are followed What are the areas you can develop in while in this role? BAR Maintaining current RSA records COGs/COS stock reporting (weekly) Beverage and consumable ordering New beverage menu training Liasing with liquor reps Communicate and motivate teams around the regular bar promotions SAFETY Conduct a Funlab Risk Assessment every period Represent your venue at the Funlab Safety Committee each period Ensure your team know, and are operating to, the Funlab Safety standards and following safe workplace behaviours Work with the VM and your facilities team to identify hazards in the venue and ensure they are controlled and fixed MOTHERFUNNERS/HR Conducting Funlab inductions for all new Motherfunners Implement the First Who Funlab recruitment process for all casual recruitment Run the Funlab casual team performance review process Take part in, alongside the VM, disciplinary meetings Maintain all team member staff files MARKETING Implementation of the local area marketing plan for your venue Develop relationships with local schools/vacation care groups/universities and businesses Drive promo nights, ensuring they are set up for success with all relevant equipment and collateral in venue Coordinate guerilla marketing events (promo shifts) Ensure all signage and venue collateral is correct and relevant REPORTING & CONTROLS Process end of week/period reporting and complete the End of Week/Period reporting process Ad hoc brand-specific operational stocktaking (including balls, shoes, socks) FINANCE Prepare efficient and fair weekly rosters, in accordance with forecast Write weekly forecasts for the venue, in accordance with budget and local conditions Understand your venue's P&L How we expect our Motherfunners to behave at work: To come to work each day to deliver the Funlab Mission Statement Live and breathe Funlab's Core Values - they are the fabric of Funlab Understand and live by Funlab's Rules of Engagement and embrace our spirit message of being: Funstoppable Work as a team and have your fellow Motherfunners' backs - invest in the success of everyone around you!
