You will oversee and support the HIPPY team to deliver services to build parents' skills and confidence in their role as their child's first teacher, allowing them to drive early learning at home. In addition, the HIPPY Coordinator supports professional training and employment opportunities by improving parent and/or carer confidence and job readiness through the Tutor program which trains and employs HIPPY parents as Tutors. The HIPPY Team also builds families' connections to local community networks and expands their knowledge of local resources and support services.
Skills and Experiences: Essential: A relevant tertiary qualification with two years' subsequent experience in a related discipline appropriate to the coordination of human services related fields such as Education, Early Childhood, Community Development, Social Work, Welfare Studies, OR an equivalent combination of relevant skills and/or experience.Experience in working in early childhood (3-5 years) service/program and strong knowledge of early childhood development and/or early intervention programs for children and their families.Demonstrated experience working within a Funded program delivery compliance legislation, intent and framework.Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in supporting adult learners, and working with children and families, particularly in at-risk, vulnerable and disadvantaged communities.Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrated experience and confidence in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island families, children, and their communities.High level of computer skills and data entry experience.Current First Aid Certificate or the ability to obtain and maintain.Current open driver licence.Current, and ability to retain, a National Police Clearance, Working with Children Blue Card check and Disability Worker Screening/Clearance/Card in compliance with HIPPY Australia, BSL.
