Heavy Vehicle / Trailer Mechanic

The Company
Our client, based in West Sunshine, are a well established and long standing company who service the truck manufacturing industry.
They are a growing and expanding business who are currently looking at adding a trailer mechanic to join their dynamic team.
This is a casual role with a view to permanency after 6 months.
Responsibilities and duties will include, but are not limited to:
Maintaining and repairing semi trailers and rigid truck bodies Diagnosing and resolving problems with suspension, bearings and brakes Removing and repacking bearings and replacing where necessary Removing and refitting brake shoes, drums and associated items Undertaking basic electrical fault-finding relating to wiring and replacing defective electric parts Installing trailer air brakes, suspension and axles and replacing air valves Previous experience with petroleum tankers would be advantageous Hydrostatic testing of tankers and hoses- trained on the job. SLP inspections (safe to load) on tankers, rigids and prime movers- trained on the job Overtime as required

Hours and Rates
Monday to Thursday 6.30am to 3.00pm
Friday 6.30am to 1.00pm
$53.75 per hour
