We have an exciting role for trade qualified Technical Specialists - Servicing to join the team based at the Hidden Valley Mine in PNG.
This is an expatriate opportunity working a 16/12 day FIFO roster from/to Australia. Reporting to the Servicing Supervisor, you will provide technical advice, mentoring and hands-on coaching of the National Workforce in preventative maintenance of all mobile equipment as part of the open pit fleet, whilst ensuring health, safety and environment standards are maintained.
Your Responsibilities Include: Safety & environmental management of risks and hazards in your workplace to ensure no incidents and to achieve 100% compliance of all Safety & environmental requirements.Attend regular area maintenance meetings to review equipment performance, develop remedial actions as required and develop improvement plans for cost and reliability. Meeting minutes must be recorded and contain a list of responsible persons and timeliness for action.Provide guidance direction and coaching to the PM personnel and provide opportunities for continuous improvement.Address technical issues on the equipment and carry daily inspection to a high standard to ensure defects are identified prior to failure.Provide the resources and estimates needed to plan and schedule the defects into Pronto and make sure they are executed prior to failure.Provide technical support to PM Service Supervisors to ensure they understand the shift priorities and can direct the team as needed.Ensure environmental controls are given consideration to perform tasks related to Inspection, Preventative Maintenance Events.About You To succeed in this role, you will be a trade qualified heavy diesel fitter and have 7+ years' experience on large scale open pit mine. Experience working in developing countries and experience working on Komatsu heavy mobile mining equipment will be highly regarded. A strong focus on behavioural based safety is essential, as well as advanced planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Communication and cultural awareness is key, strong interpersonal and relationship building skills are a must as well as an appreciation for operating within a developing country.
