Hey You Are you passionate about clinical leadership and supporting mental health professionals? genU is seeking an experienced Health and Wellbeing Consultant (Mental Health) to join our team within the Access & Specialist Services division.
As a Health and Wellbeing Consultant (Mental Health), you will utilise your specialist skills, knowledge and experience to provide a person centred, holistic approach to support clients toward improved management of their mental health issues in order to facilitate successful engagement with employment. This role will also use your counselling intervention skills when supporting clients.
Some of your key Responsibilities Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, deliver face-to-face and telehealth interventions, and facilitate group workshops to support client health and employability. Create tailored health action plans, provide health advice, and guide clients in managing their conditions and returning to work. Ensure timely and accurate documentation of client activities and health action plans, and submit related invoices weekly. Build relationships with external organizations and health professionals, providing training to operational staff and promoting referrals to the Health and Wellbeing service. Engage in monthly performance reviews and supervision, participate in training opportunities, and take responsibility for continuous professional development. To be successful in this role it is a requirement that you have Full registration as a health professional with one of the following regulatory bodies: Psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Occupational Therapist registered with AHPRA, Counsellor registered with the Australian Counselling Associations (ACA) or Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACA), Rehabilitation Counsellor registered with Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors (ASORC), or Accredited Mental Health Social Worker registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Proficient in applying evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Brief Solution Focused Therapy, tailored for short-term client interventions. Strong understanding of the biopsychosocial model of healthcare and experience facilitating mental health-related group interventions. Committed to empowering clients with severe and enduring mental health issues to manage their conditions effectively and enhance their employability.
