In this pivotal role, you will collaborate and coach managers and employees to prevent and address health and safety risks, develop and implement impactful strategies, resources and tools, and promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the Network, whilst ensuring compliance with legislation and regulations across our Network.

What you'll be doing
As a Health & Safety Partner at Sydney Children's Hospitals Network, you will play a crucial role in preventing and managing health and safety risks. Your key responsibilities will include:
Promoting a positive WHS culture: Foster a positive safety culture across the Network by providing expert guidance and support in implementing effective health and safety practices. Managing incidents: Assist with investigating incidents, providing recommendations to mitigate risks, and ensuring compliance with WHS legislation. Developing strategies: Analyse WHS data to identify trends and develop strategies to proactively address emerging issues, working collaboratively with managers and employees. Reviewing policies: Advise on and support the revision and development of WHS policies and procedures to ensure they align with standards and regulations. Supporting compliance: Conduct audits, monitor legislative compliance, and support interactions with regulatory bodies like Safework NSW. Experience in return-to-work and psychosocial risk management is desirable but not a requirement. Open to candidates from outside of the Healthcare industry.
Minimum Requirements:
Experience in WHS and Manual Handling coordination together with a health science background and/or experience working in a hospital setting. Relevant WHS qualifications e.g. Cert IV or Diploma or above would be highly regarded. Experience in coordinating and timely management of a work health safety service and demonstrated working knowledge of relevant legislation, with demonstrated experience of facilitating change in a large work environment with competing demands. Previous experience in incident investigation and providing strategies to reduce the risk of further incidents. Proven interpersonal, negotiation and high level communication skills (written and verbal) with internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to work independently as well as work cooperatively in a team environment. Demonstrated success in designing, implementing and evaluating evidence based quality improvement programs including education/training.
