With the capacity to export 50 million tonnes annually, they play a critical role in delivering Queensland products to the world.
The terminal is situated in North Queensland, nestled between the scenic coastal cities of Townsville and Mackay.
A relocation package is offered for this role.

The RoleOur client is seeking a proactive and dynamic

Health and Safety Officer

to join their HSEC (Health, Safety, Environment & Community) Team.
This pivotal role will be responsible for driving health and safety programs and advising on all health and safety activities within the organisation.
Reporting to the HSEC Manager, you will be instrumental in promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring that safety outcomes align with the company's business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in creating a positive safety culture across all teams, promoting safe work methods and practices.

Provide expert advice on the application of HS processes, supporting compliance with safety management systems, legislative requirements, and codes of practice.

Oversee the safe and timely delivery of occupational health monitoring services in collaboration with external technical experts.

Support frontline teams in hazard identification, risk assessment, and the implementation of appropriate control measures.

Assist in incident investigations and the development of preventative strategies.

Build and maintain strong professional relationships with personnel and stakeholders through communication, collaboration, and consultation.

Qualifications and Experience

Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).

Understanding of Queensland Work Health & Safety legislation, codes of practice, and standards.

Experience in a similar role within an industrial environment.
