The role: We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Trusts and Foundations to lead and develop the trust and foundation strategy, as well as manage and build funder relationships and grants applications.
Reporting to the new General Manager of Fundraising and Community Engagement who has been tasked with creating a new strategy, your responsibilities will include:
Lead the planning and delivery of the trusts and foundations strategy, to grow income in this area and meet the team's annual target. Production (writing, editing and proofreading) of all submissions. Maintain records on funders, including prospect research. Work closely with internal stakeholders to identify items to fundraise for and match potential donors. Develop and nurture relationships with prospective donors. Collate relevant information and ensure high quality funding applications are submitted within deadlines. Monitor deadlines in respect of applications and acquittals. Operate within Charity Law and Data Protection legislation and adhere to the Institute of Fundraising Codes of Practice. Provide leadership and support to the Grants officer. Work with GM of Fundraising and other Fundraising Heads to develop and deliver against the fundraising strategy. Proven track record of securing multi-year funding within a charity environment. To be successful in this role you will have the following: Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills. Developing and maintaining key relationships with trusts and foundations over a sustained period of time, and a thorough understanding of how charitable trusts and foundations operate. Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise and develop relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. A clear understanding of why outcomes measurement is important. Experience in preparing and managing budgets. Aligns with organisation mission, vision and values. Degree qualifications in business, marketing or related area. The following will be highly regarded:
