Your opportunity to join us at North Ryde! Reporting to the GM Commercial Finance – Corporate, we are looking to appoint an experienced business leader responsible for managing the tax obligations and compliance requirements for Inghams. In this role, you will improve the company's performance by developing and implementing tax strategies that optimise tax positions, reduce risk, and support business growth across ANZ.
Working with a range of internal and external stakeholders, this is a broad, hands-on role encompassing tax compliance, planning, risk management, and financial reporting, operating in a complex, fully integrated, supply chain environment.
Key responsibilities: Manage the Group tax function, ensuring the company complies with all tax laws and regulations in Australia and New Zealand – including income tax, GST, FBT, R&D, payroll taxes, non-resident withholding taxes, tax payments, and the franking account.Manage research & development claims including collaboration across teams.Develop and implement tax strategies that optimise tax positions, reduce risk, and support business growth.Manage franking account modelling and forecasting for dividend distributions.Advise group structure changes and transfer pricing where required.Identify and mitigate tax risks, including navigating complex issues like transfer pricing, international tax matters, and changes in legislation.Ensure appropriate and informed levels of tax risks; build a culture of tax risk and set the tone/board culture around risk.Advise Executive leaders on all taxation matters including modelling and evaluating scenarios to achieve the best outcomes.Oversee the accurate reporting of tax-related information in financial statements, working closely with finance teams to ensure tax provisions are correctly calculated and disclosed.Review and approve relevant tax balance sheet account reconciliations.Prepare tax reports on all key tax matters for the Finance and Audit Committee.Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office, auditors, and regulatory bodies as required.Assist and collaborate with other business units including legal, M&A, and group finance.Collaborate with external stakeholders, including auditors and legal counsel, to ensure smooth tax operations and compliance.Oversee the appointment and managing of external advisors.Implement and deliver an effective control environment for tax, through the cascade of group tax policies and procedures.Implement improvements to existing tax processes, controls, and policies.Ensure direct report has clearly defined objectives and performance measures, providing regular feedback, coaching, and training to support their development.Key requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field.Certified Accountant CPA or CA is a must.10+ years' experience in a complex or large public company.Solid understanding of multi-currency environments.Proficient in using one source software for income tax compliance.Understanding of stakeholder engagement and ability to build strong relationships.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.Advanced Microsoft Excel.Proven track record of leading and developing teams to get results.Solid attention to detail with strong numeracy skills.High learning agility, self-learner, with an ability to work in ambiguous environments.Ability to meet deadlines.We're looking for people who are curious, caring, courageous, and committed to join us; people who want to contribute their best work every single day and continue delivering deliciously good food that's…Always Good!
