Its premier manufacturing facility (~1800 m²) is situated within an industrial suburb of Sydney that is nestled in the Camden Council local government area, along the M5 corridor. This fledgling business is under the stewardship of a successful entrepreneurial founder, someone who is passionate about recruiting a best-in-class team to achieve their new venture's stated aim.Having established a highly successful distribution business catering to the Health Sector, the logical progression for the founder was to venture into manufacturing the distributed products. By reinvesting profits from this successful distribution business, the company is laying the groundwork for manufacturing complementary and compounded medicines in Australia. Collaborating closely with an experienced Head of Quality, Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director, the company seeks an experienced Head of Production, ready to navigate the challenges of obtaining a TGA license for the manufacturing facility. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring the site's efficient and compliant operation.You will be responsible for:Maintaining manufacturing schedules to ensure precise batch production and proactively addressing quality issues to minimize deviations and reprocessing.Driving process improvements, implement LEAN methodologies, and oversee safety protocols and waste management.Leading change controls and deviations, conducting risk assessments, and providing technical support for quality issues and recalls.Promoting enhancements to quality and safety documentation and processes, fostering a collaborative and team-focused environment.As a people leader, you will mentor and manage the production team, oversee recruitment and performance management, and prioritise occupational health and safety practices. Effective stakeholder management, including collaboration with Quality, will ensure efficient production and maintenance activities.REQUIREMENTSTo be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:Minimum 10 years' experience in management/leadership experience in the complementary and/or pharmaceutical medicines industries—mainly in the areas of manufacturing and QA/QC—experience in complementary medicine is preferredTertiary qualifications in engineering, science, medicine, health, or life sciencesEffective leadership of Production, Quality, and Validation teams of 10+ employeesExcellent knowledge of cGMP and PIC/S guideSolid understanding of regulatory requirements for therapeutic and non-therapeutic products including a strong working knowledge of Quality Risk Management and complianceExperience in the setup and operation of manufacturing facility and equipmentExperience in LEAN methodologies and proven experience in their implementationExperience in external audits TGA and other regulatory auditsDemonstrated strong technical knowledge and understanding of the inter-relationship of quality attributes and process parametersYou must have unrestricted work rights in AustraliaFor a confidential discussion and to find out more about this rare opportunity, please call Helen on 0438 620 434 or Jo on 0411 197 171 .
