APG Workforce are currently on the search for a hands-on Production Manager for our clients Feedmill based in Berrima NSW.
Our clients operations run 24/7 across 3 shifts Midnight Sunday night till 6pm Friday. They are looking to increase volume of feed from 2.5k Tonne to 3.5k Tonnes of Feed per week due the demand!
This hands-on role would be suitable for a well-seasoned and experienced Production Manager who is already used to managing an onsite production operation and its functions + lead a team to success.
The Role
Look after quality of feed, and quantity ensuring the amount of feed produced each week- volume between 2.5k tonne pw Drive staff safety Drive improvement in hygiene and cleaning of mill and maintaining it Dealing with maintenance staff Person will need to do occasional farm visits and buy gear for the mill Direct reports: there are 24 staff onsite, this role will look after 12 employees = 3 staff per shift on production and a couple of full-time cleaners Support Mill Manager with daily activities on site at the Mill Manage a team of staff and oversee production across 3 shifts Supervise quality control of raw materials and finished feed Supervise cleaning/hygiene of the mill Weekly reporting to monitor operating efficiency Oversee staff training and manage staff rosters Provide support to all roles including leave coverage
What we are looking for:
Good people leader/ someone with leadership exp SKADA computer system operation experience Animal food product industry experience ideal Previous hands-on experience in a similar farming operations role in Feed Production or similar Experience in leading, coaching and motivating a team A good understanding of modern farming methods, a commitment to animal welfare and an interest in, and understanding of, the ways in which farming impacts the environment Strong Computer skills with proficiency in the use of the Microsoft suite High attention to detail and demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise work demands and meet tight deadlines Demonstrated understanding and exposure to both Biosecurity and Animal Welfare principle
