The People Unit at UTS is a dynamic and integral part of the Operations Division, providing strategic advice, operational support, and employee services across UTS.
To set it up for future success, the unit has recently gone through an operating model change, which has created a new role - Head of Partnering and Workplace Relations.

THE ROLE
Reporting into the Executive Director, People and Culture, the Head of Partnering and Workplace Relations will provide leadership to a team of 7 direct reports, bringing together specialists within the two disciplines.
You will be responsible for:
Serving as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on all People matters and playing a key role in scoping and implementing initiatives that drive organisational effectiveness and employee engagement;Lead and manage a team of strategic Business Partners providing coaching and guidance to ensure the client units are well supported on all people matters;Oversee the Workplace Relations team, providing expert advice and support on complex workplace relations matters and leading the university's EA negotiations. THE CANDIDATE
To be successful in this role, you will be a proven HR leader with the ability to build effective relationships and influence key stakeholders from across the University.
You will have:
Strong people management skills and extensive experience leading and engaging strategic HR business partners and Workplace Relations teams;Proven experience in organisation design, workforce planning, talent management, employee relations, and change management;Demonstrated experience in leading and influencing in a complex industrial relations environment to deliver significant positive change;Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to develop holistic solutions to complex issues which may span across multiple functions;Proficiency in leveraging ERP/HRIS strategic people and organisation management systems;Strong strategic thinking and business acumen;Innovative and forward-thinking;Previous experience within an academic or higher education setting would be advantageous.
