MMG's Melbourne head office currently has a vacancy for Head of Operational Assurance and Improvement. Located within our Operations Group, the position has accountability to lead and direct the function, ensuring the following mandates are achieved:
Support line management to improve / sustain the control of risk and assurance processes
Facilitate identification of operational risks, review of operational risks and associated controls
Support line management to improve / sustain insurance exposure through integration with risk understanding
Provide advice to EGM Operations regarding risks and risk management at operating Assets
Provide specialist subject matter expertise in all matters relating to operational risk and assurance
This is an exciting opportunity to work across multiple operational assets to reliably achieve objectives, address uncertainty, and continually improve our assurance processes. To be considered, we ideally seek:
Extensive experience across risk management assurance aspects related to mining operations,
Extensive experience across assurance systems, control design and continuous improvement
Experience managing a function and team to deliver to plan, scope and budget
Advanced knowledge of risk management and assurance practices, theories and standards
Strong understanding of mining operations and processes
Expert skills in stakeholder engagement, communication, presentation, and problem solving
Excellent working knowledge of software tools that manage governance, risk, compliance and incident activities and controls (i.e. SAP GRC / SAP IEM)
