We deliver tailored solutions for our more than 1500 members, delivering practical help to meet their individual needs.About the roleThe Head of Marketing and Communications leads the marketing and communications team, responsible for the Smart Energy Council's advocacy campaigns, event promotion, member and stakeholder engagement and other activities.Leading a small, agile team, the Head of Marketing and Communications ensures the Smart Energy Council's messages resonate with our audiences and deliver tangible outcomes. The Head of Marketing and Communications is also central to fostering organisational growth and identifying new opportunities.Key responsibilitiesLead, develop and implement integrated marketing and communication strategiesOversee the tactical execution of marketing campaignsDevelop and execute Smart Energy Council's external relations and brand strategyUtilise highly proficient written communication skills to take a hands-on role in copywriting and proofing marketing materials as and when requiredLead Smart Energy Council's digital strategies and guidelinesLead and develop the marketing and communications teamPartner with Smart Energy Council's advocacy team for campaigns to ensure they are effective, delivered on time and within budgetProvide cross organisational marketing and communications expertise, coaching and supportSupport the Event Marketing Manager to develop and coordinate the production of bold and on-brand collateral to market and promote Smart Energy Council's, events, workshops etc., aligned with marketing and communications plansOversee the maintenance and updating of our web presence and databases in line with our policies and processesLead and support the content for all marketing campaigns, including regular eDM newsletter updatesRequirements and skillsBachelor's degree in marketing or a related field5-10 years' experience with social media marketing or content developmentProven experience in leading and managing a branding, marketing and communications team.Strong interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.Excellent organisational and time management skills.Positive and professional work style.High emotional intelligence and empathy.Fair and dynamic leader.Ability to clearly communicate complex information to a wide range of internal and external audiences using appropriate tone and manner to achieve understanding.Successful coach and mentor.Team oriented and highly collaborative, discerning when to work independently.Digital literacy: experience with Active Campaign, Hubspot, WordPress, Canva, G-Suite and Adobe packages will be highly regarded.Key RelationshipsPosition reports to the COO.Direct reports: the Media Manager, the Events Marketing and Communications Manager, the Digital Marketing Coordinator, the Marketing Data AnalystInternal: the CEO; the COO; the External Affairs Manager; the Events Manager; the Sales and Membership teamExternal: contractors and freelancersThis role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant contribution to Australia's transition towards a smart and renewable energy future and a stable climate.
