Salary: $126,868 to $145,898 per annum + 11.5% superannuation

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head Economy and Place to lead the implementation of our Economic Development Strategy. As a key member of our team, you will play an important role in building business resilience across the LGA through strong and mutually beneficial sector relationships, delivering creative programming and place-based events, providing informed business support and through identifying new opportunities to help drive economic growth and vibrancy.

Things you will do: Lead a passionate and informed Economic Development team and oversee and in a leadership role, contribute to the operations and priorities of the wider Economic Development and Placemaking team (including Economic Development, Arts and Culture, the La Perouse Museum, Events and Venues).Continue to build on the City's profile as a great place to live, work and play through delivery of the Economic Development Strategy as well as responding to ongoing strategic needs of the local business networks.Develop and deliver creative place-based activations and events that build vibrant town centers and local neighbourhoods, and that benefit local businesses and the wider community.Foster a collaborative business culture that empowers businesses to start, grow, and thrive.Collate and analyse data to adapt our approach to business support and future planning.Create a 24-hour economy by promoting diverse and innovative night-time activities and enhancing the overall night-time experiences within the community.We will trust you to bring: Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in economics, business administration, placemaking or a related field. A postgraduate qualification is desirable.Proven experience in economic development, placemaking, or a related field.Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to translate vision into effective and engaging outcomes.A track record of successful collaborations and programs with local businesses and networks and/or placemaking activations.High level written and spoken communication, negotiation, advocacy and stakeholder management skills.Knowledge of economic development trends, best practices, and the ability to apply innovative & creative approaches.Further information: View the position description online or contact Roxanne Fea, Manager Economic Development and Placemaking, on 0447 322 194.
