One of our clients is seeking a highly skilled Principal Data Engineer to join the dynamic team. This role is crucial for delivering quality-assured data products and managing the broader data architecture. You will lead a team of Data Engineers and work closely with Business Analysts and Business Partners to drive data initiatives.
Your new role Strategically plan and deliver data engineering workloads, data analytics products, and solutions. Provide high-level technical consulting and leadership to departmental staff. Lead business improvement and process re-engineering exercises. Ensure reliability and consistency of service across multiple projects. Develop and implement innovative business strategies, policies, and procedures. Maintain operational networks and provide expert advice to support effective service delivery. Manage the delivery of complex data projects and mentor a young team. What you'll need to succeed Candidates should have full working rights in Australia (mandate). The candidate should be currently in Adelaide, Australia (mandate). 5+ years of experience with data engineering and data warehousing. Proficiency in Databricks, Azure, DevOps, and data ingestion processes. Experience with BI and reporting layers. Proven experience in managing teams and delivering data projects. Knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS/MS Azure) is advantageous. Appian certification is highly regarded. Experience with other programming languages (e.g., .Net, C#, Java) is a bonus.
