Our Client, a leading Tier 1 Iron Ore Producer based in the Pilbara, is currently seeking a Senior Contracts Advisor to join their Procurement Team!
15th November, 2024 The role is for an initial duration of 12 months with the possibility of an extension. The Senior Contracts Advisor role is site-based on a 2/1 roster supporting the construction of our client's desalination plant.
Working as part of the owners' team, the successful candidate will report to the Contracts Lead (Perth based) and work with the Construction Manager to help ensure that day-to-day activities run smoothly and that records are kept up to date.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated construction project experience, a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of procurement best practices in an end-to-end contracting environment.
Expectations for the role include: Demonstrate the application of our client's values of courage, care, and curiosity. Conduct sourcing activities including strategy development, negotiation, and implementation of master services agreements (panel contracts), construction, supply, and consultancy contracts. Strong commercial acumen and ability to think independently. Development and delivery of the project sourcing strategy. Develop and maintain proactive, values-based relationships with the Project Delivery Team and contracting partners across the relevant project. Perform contract management activities including contract compliance, claim assessments, and dispute resolutions promptly and effectively. Minimum Requirements: A minimum of 10 years contracts experience. Proven ability in managing end-to-end procurement activities for capital contracts. Focus and ability to deliver construction projects safely in the Pilbara. Previously worked for a Tier One iron ore company. Previous Post Award experience. Tendering, evaluation, contract drafting, and negotiation experience. Sound ability on claims management and determining effective commercial outcomes. Proactive management of stakeholders and an ability to build strong relationships. Ability to successfully manage competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment. Proven track record of achieving outcomes through negotiation, influencing, and collaboration. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
