Reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer, we're on the lookout for a dynamic Insurance Manager to develop, deliver and continually enhance an effective insurance strategy for the BMD Group.
With BMD experiencing robust growth, this role is responsible for building partnerships across the BMD Group business units and adding value to the Group Insurance Program whilst being a team player that can collaborate closely to ensure the business is setup well from an insurance perspective.
Functional responsibility includes risk identification and analysis, risk control and risk treatment.
Please note this role is based in Brisbane with monthly short trips to other states in Australia expected.
About the role: Manage the BMD Group insurance portfolio including defining, proposing and implementing a group wide insurance strategy.
Responsible for building partnerships across the business and actively managing brokers and underwriters.
Includes management of claims, placement of insurance coverage and advising on contractual risk allocations.
Keeping BMD abreast of latest insurance trends, regulatory changes, technology advancements and market offerings, both domestically and internationally, as appropriate.
Ensure BMD insurance standards and procedures provide clear governance in a clear and efficient manner.
Providing advice and support where required on a day-to-day basis.
What you'll need: Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business/Commerce, Law or Engineering disciplines preferred.
10 plus years' experience of relevant insurance and construction experience, with specialty experience in claims management and insurance strategy ideally.
Commercially astute individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven negotiating abilities.
Experience of business and construction related insurances.
A strong knowledge of insurance provisions in construction related contracts.
Engaging, collaborative and consultative approach with demonstrated ability to interact at all levels and build strong, respectful relationships.
Ability to adapt to any team or culture seamlessly.
