About the Company
NORSTA Maritime is an Australian-owned company focused on providing maritime sustainment services, primarily for the Royal Australian Navy. As the Regional Maintenance Provider for the North-East region, NORSTA coordinates and manages the maintenance of naval vessels from its bases in Cairns, Queensland and Darwin, Northern Territory. It plays a key role in the broader national initiative under 'Plan Galileo,' which seeks to enhance Australia's naval sustainment capabilities through regional maintenance centres.
About the Role
This is a newly created position, based in Brisbane, QLD and will report directly to the Board of Directors. You will be an experienced and dynamic Group CEO with at least 10 years' experience in a high-level leadership role.
You will lead and manage their expanding regional maintenance and sustainment services as well as support a highly professional and talented team. This role will oversee multiple locations and contracts, including the crucial Regional Maintenance Provider (RMP) services for the Royal Australian Navy.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership across NORSTA Maritime's businesses, ensuring profitability and growth.
Manage day-to-day operations and ensure contract deliverables are met.
Lead and motivate the executive team while developing new business opportunities.
Build relationships with key stakeholders, including Defence and industry partners.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and safety requirements.
Skills and Experience required
Tertiary qualifications in business or project management.
10+ years in a similar leadership role, ideally within Defence or complex contract environments.
Proven track record in running profitable businesses with a focus on stakeholder engagement and team development.
Desirable Experience:
Experience with Defence contracts and program management.
Strong strategic planning and problem-solving abilities.
