About QIMR Berghofer:
QIMR Berghofer is a world-leading translational medical research institute focused on improving health by developing new diagnostics, better treatments and prevention strategies, specifically in the areas of Cancer, Infection and Inflammation, Brain and Mental Health, and Population Health. Based in Herston, Brisbane and working in close collaboration with clinicians and other research institutes, QIMR Berghofer is home to more than 600 scientists, students and non-research staff.
About the Research Grants Team:
The Research Grants Office is part of the Research Governance and Funding Department, which provides support services to QIMR Berghofer's research staff to enable them to be effective in the conduct of research. The Grants Office supports the submission of funding applications and conducts post-award management of any funding awards. This includes financial management of grants and managing internal and external reporting obligations.
Role Purpose / Responsibilities:
In this role, you will coordinate all aspects of pre-award research grant administration including financial management of cost centres, expenditure statements and reporting; negotiation of research agreements; provide information, support or advice to all levels of Institute staff on research grant-related matters. The main focus of the role is to manage all aspects of the process whereby QIMR Berghofer scientists utilise externally funded, competitive research grants.
About you:
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage conflicting demands and multiple priorities and problem-solving skills is essential as is highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact easily with all levels of staff. Experience in research agreement administration or a demonstrated knowledge of intellectual property and research policies is highly regarded.

Remuneration: Salary range is $103,278 p.a. to $112,359 p.a. plus super and generous salary packaging. This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 12 months.
