State Government Opportunity in Sydney CBD or ParramattaASAP StartInitial contract until Feb 2025 with possibility of extension$58 - $64 per hour + SuperOur State Government client is seeking a Governance Officer to join their Strategy and Governance Division in Sydney CBD or Parramatta.
The Governance Officer supports the implementation and management of ethics, compliance, and risk management policies, strategies and governance processes by delivering advice support and training on ethical conduct and appropriate workplace behaviours and promotes a culture of effective governance.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Provide advice to staff on diverse corporate governance issues including the application of relevant statutory requirements, Government policy, ethics, conduct, risk management, compliance, and governance best practice.Promote a culture of effective governance by delivering training and other learning resources aimed at improving knowledge and assisting managers and staff with ethical conduct and risk management.Review and process internal reports, allegations and related disclosures, including undertaking investigations, review and assessing public interest disclosures.Maintain, analyse, record governance information and data and prepare management reports, including reports on compliance and fraud and corruption issues.Undertake reviews, draft and maintain the suite of ethics, compliance, risk management and other governance policies and procedures.Support the delivery of the enterprise risk management framework and the internal audit function, including maintaining risk registers and providing advice on fraud and corruption risks.Provide secretariat support to the Audit and Risk Committee including preparation of agendas, minutes and the coordination and quality review of papers.Support the functional and administrative operation of other governance and compliance processes, as required.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will possess:
Relevant tertiary qualifications, industry certifications and/or equivalent experience in delivery of corporate governance, compliance, risk management and investigations.Previous experience working for a government department would be advantageous.To ApplyIn order to be considered, applicants are required to hold Full Working Rights in Australia and be willing to undergo a Police Check if successful.
