The opportunity ASIO is seeking to fill a Geospatial Technical Lead role in Canberra (preferred), Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Adelaide locations.
A merit pool may be created to fill future vacancies which have the same or similar requirements to this position.
This merit pool will be valid for up to 18 months.
Role responsibilities As a Geospatial Technical Lead, you will: Lead the technical development, implementation and delivery of the enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS).
Provide platform support and end user engagement to optimise the use of ArcGIS to provide the greatest value to the organisation.
The Geographical Information Systems team is responsible for support of the enterprise geospatial platform and Esri's ArcGIS.
The team consists of technical experts developing, implementing and maintaining ASIO's geospatial capabilities and working closely with business areas to ensure they align with organisational priorities.
What you will bring We invite applications from people with the following attributes: Experience with the development and testing of ArcGIS web-maps and applications to visualise and analyse data.
Experience in Geospatial data management.
Experience in technical support and maintenance of ArcGIS platform.
Required Skills The ability to apply advanced knowledge of GIS to deliver capability supporting the production of mapping, geoprocessing tools, web-maps and applications to maximise the use of GIS data using the Esri ArcGIS platform.
Experience providing technical direction, support and maintenance of ArcGIS, including ongoing maintenance/upgrades, enhancements and modernization to ensure reliable, performant delivery and operation of ArcGIS solutions.
Strong problem-solving skills.
A demonstrated ability to form and maintain strong working relationships with others.
Experience in mentoring and encouraging staff to advance their knowledge and develop skills.
Other Desirable Skills and Experience Experience with managing Esri products enterprise ArcGIS and ArcGIS Pro.
A high level of data literacy.
A demonstrated ability to understand priorities and adjust to changing circumstances and priorities.
The ability to prioritise workloads and comply with deadlines.
Initiative and the ability to self-direct.
A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in using, delivering and supporting enterprise GIS systems, preferably within an operational environment.
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
