The Perth office has a mixture of technical disciplines, and the Ecology and Biodiversity team is seeking their newest member! We are a friendly bunch who work well together with a strong team culture and are keen on speaking to graduate botanists with the confidence and ability to hit the ground running in a busy environment.
As part of a growing team, you will be responsible for carrying out services and tasks that include undertaking field preparation and surveys, health and safety documentation, data entry, GIS and reporting. As a self-starter, you will be able to display confidence and an eagerness to learn and as an outcome you will be taught how to become an environmental/botanical consultant.

Key Responsibilities Responsibilities
You will be confident in your technical ability and have a positive attitude to do the following tasks:
Provide a professional service to our clients and colleagues, in both office-based and fieldwork activities. Assist in field surveys across Western Australia for varying clients and industries. We also have opportunities to assist in ecological surveys throughout Australia from our other SLR offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, Townsville, Cairns, Darwin, Adelaide. Understand State and Federal environmental legislation. Assist in writing sections of technical reports. Assist in managing and analysing data collected from the field. Willingness to travel to remote areas, including interstate, to conduct field survey programs. Skills and experience
The successful candidate must have:
An appropriate tertiary qualification in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resources or in another related field. 0-2 years' experience in an ecological role in the environmental consulting sector or an equivalent role in Government, including undertaking ecological surveys and report production. Assist in undertaking flora and vegetation field surveys and monitoring programs. Keenness to learn flora identification skills. Competent report writing and computer skills. Experience in statistical analysis and geospatial software (i.e. QGIS) is desirable. Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks. Our benefits
