Goulburn Valley Water (GVW) is a critical service delivery organisation centred in Shepparton in north central Victoria. GVW's core purpose is to deliver safe, reliable, and affordable water services to customers. From the outskirts of Melbourne in the south to the Murray River in the north, the organisation is an integral part of the social and economic fabric of the region, delivering services to a population of over 125,000 across 54 towns.
Key Responsibilities
With a growing population, changing climate, and evolving customer needs, the General Manager Planning & Assets will play a key role in responding to current challenges and preparing the organisation for the future. Reporting to the Managing Director, the General Manager Planning and Assets will play a critical leadership role as part of the executive team in shaping the organisation to achieve its vision.
The General Manager will ensure urban water and wastewater security is achieved through proactive and solutions-focused infrastructure planning, engineering, asset management, and capital investment. This will involve the development of long-term plans for water resources and treatment facilities to ensure high-quality, climate-resilient, and reliable water services to customers in the future.
Candidate Profile
You are known as a well-rounded leader with senior experience partnering with leadership teams and Boards to inform strategic decisions. Responding to growth, the challenge of climate change, and financial constraints, you will thrive as an adaptive leader in a complex and dynamic service delivery environment.
You will have demonstrated success in developing and delivering infrastructure planning to support growth within a utility or other business subject to economic and service delivery regulation. With an understanding of the water sector or other aligned asset-intensive sectors, you bring tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Science, Commerce, Planning, Business, or a related field.
