General Manager People, Culture & Contracts

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and culturally grounded General Manager People, Culture & Contracts to lead our Human Resources and Organisational Development functions.
In this pivotal role, you will shape and drive our people strategies, foster a diverse and inclusive workplace culture, and lead organisational change to ensure MDAS remains a leading provider of culturally appropriate services to Aboriginal communities.
Key Responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of strategic people, culture, and inclusion initiatives in line with MDAS's long-term vision and mission.
Drive effective organisational change programs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and enabling continuous improvement.
Implement and maintain robust people management systems, policies, and procedures that support compliance, best practice, and positive employee experiences.
Provide high-level leadership, guidance, and mentoring to a senior team of HR and OD professionals, fostering professional growth and a cohesive, high-performing culture.
Negotiate and influence effectively with key internal and external stakeholders to achieve agreed outcomes.
Develop and maintain a culture of inclusivity and respect, ensuring that our services, workforce, and policies reflect the strengths and aspirations of Aboriginal communities.
Utilize advanced computer literacy skills, including Microsoft Office software, to oversee workforce analytics, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You To succeed in this role, you will: Have at least 5 years of experience as a Human Resources Professional , ideally in the not-for-profit or community services sector.
Hold a relevant qualification in Employment law, Human Resource Management, Business Management, Organisational Development, Organisational Psychology or a related field.
Demonstrate cultural competence and a commitment to working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Possess significant experience and have exceptional skills in implementing and maintaining effective people management systems, policies, and procedures.
Have an approach that is people-centric, empathetic, and culturally informed, with an unwavering commitment to fostering diversity, inclusion, and respect.
Excel at building high-performing teams, navigating complex stakeholder relationships, and setting the strategic direction for people-related initiatives that help organizations thrive.
Have a high level of computer literacy and sound working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
Have delivered services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and actively engage in learning about other cultures to build relationships and enhance service delivery.
Willingness to relocate to Mildura (relocation support negotiable).
Current Working with Children Check (Vic) and National Police Check .
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or a valid medical exemption.
