About the role Within the Sample Preparation Department, the Sample Preparation Technician (P2) will work with client samples and prepare them for analysis in our labs.
Responsibilities Ringing, sieving (including International Soils), crushing, splitting under direct supervisionLoading and unloading drying ovens under supervisionMaintain own production logsGeneral cleaning duties for basic lab cleanlinessMay assist with layout duties/tasksInspecting equipment and inform senior employee if adjustment is requiredObserve established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and proceduresOther duties as assignedAbout you Good hand-eye coordinationGood organizational skillsAbility to work independently or as part of a teamBasic alpha/numeric comprehensionBasic English communication skills (written and verbal)Required Qualifications Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of timeAbility to work in a hot and dusty environmentManual dexterity to perform repetitive tasksAbility to lift up to 50lbs; sometimes continuously (occasionally lifting may exceed 50lbs and assistance is mandatory from either another employee or the lift assist equipment)Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilitiesBe cleanly-shaven in order to wear protective equipmentWorking at ALS Our people are our most valuable asset and drive our success at ALS.
