General Hand

Our client currently requires multiple Casual General Hands to support the current team.  Located in the Docks at Port Melbourne they are the market leader in a fully integrated, automated Terminal ensuring excellent safety standards.  They have a positive and inclusive team environment and culture.
  
The Casual positions involve:
- Remove and insert twist locks from shipping containers,
- Follow all safety operating procedures and instructions,
- Identifying any safety concerns during a shift,
- Unlash and lash vessels in accordance with SOP's,
- Perform other tasks when required relating to vessel operations.
- Operate a Forklift.
- 12 Hour Shifts both Day and Night

To be successful for one of the General Hand Positions you will require:
- Current Forklift License, essential
- Heavy Industrial experience - min five years,
- Current Car License,
- Available to work Saturday and Sunday Shifts - essential
- Able to work at heights - critical - up to 20 meters
- MSIC Eligibility,
- Excellent hand eye coordination,
- Min. 8 years full time work experience,
- A clean Police Check,
- Ability to meet extreme physical demands of the role for 12 hour shifts.

The positions are 12 hour shifts (DAY/NIGHT) and the site operates 24x7.  You will be required to clear a highly physical medical and a Police Check to be successful within the role.  This company has an excellent management team together with an outstanding safety record.    The positions are to start early December, 2024.
