Bourke Street Bakery is looking for a passionate production leader to take the reins as Production Manager - a crucial role for the success of the business.
We started as a little rustic corner bakery in 2004 on Bourke Street in Surry Hills. We have sort of grown up - now in our 21st year of baking and have many outlets throughout Sydney.
As Production Manager you are charged with managing a great team of skilled bakers, chefs and pastry chefs - to ensure a great positive culture, great quality products, costs are controlled, and we improve systems and processes for improved productivity and quality.
Keys to being successful in the role:Demonstrated ability to lead a team of 15-20 skilled professionals – Including a Head Baker, Head Pastry Chef and Head Chef.Rostering, overseeing leave requests and all other HR functions.Creating a culture of safety and quality through training, mentoring and coaching to ensure high standards are maintained.Production KPI Reporting.HACCP Management.Taking a proactive approach to drive efficiency improvements via better processes, flows, rostering and analysis of data for improvements.Ability to problem-solve for handmade and automated equipment environment.Maintaining impeccable housekeeping standards.Creative and enjoy driving a team to innovate.What We're Looking for:Experience in Food Manufacturing in FMCG, Medium to large Bakery and or large-scale catering.Be a Baker or a Chef.Understand the commercials of labour, waste and input costs.Willingness to work - day, night and weekend shifts.Hands-on with an enthusiastic and positive attitude.Exceptional communication skills.Demonstrated versatility, adaptability, and a strong sense of enthusiasm.The ability to meet deadlines and achieve production targets consistently.A self-motivated and autonomous work ethic, coupled with a strong team spirit.Experience with HACCP, AQ Systems and process and OH&S.Ambitious individuals looking to advance their careers – this role offers an excellent pathway to future opportunities and promotions.Applicants must have full work rights in Australia to apply.Capability in Excel, Deputy, Foodstorm, and other manufacturing software.You understand the world of bakery - and are meticulous about quality, always looking at ways to improve the processes for better quality outcomes.
