This role is within the asset management department reporting into a Fund Lead. The primary assets in the funds are the Lawson Grains broadacre cropping portfolio and the Yougawalla Pastoral Company pastoral beef portfolio.About New ForestsNew Agriculture was launched in August 2022 as a business division of New Forests, to build a portfolio of agriculture assets globally, starting in Australia and New Zealand. We currently manage broad-acre crops and grazing land in Australia, primarily in New South Wales and Western Australia. We aim to generate shared prosperity for our clients and the communities in which we operate and accelerate the transition to a sustainable future.Headquartered in Sydney, New Forests is a Certified B Corp and operates in Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, Africa and the United States.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:Fund ManagementFund financial and operational modelling and analysis for TLP3AH and TLP4AH funds ('the funds') to inform optimised decision making.Support the review and update of fund model structures.Manage asset and fund financial and non-financial data collection, reporting, analysis and benchmarking.Co-ordination and management of platform wide and fund level projects relevant to the funds assets. This may be independently lead, or involve deep collaboration with staff across New Forests, and relevant executives within the asset property managers.Support the supervision sub-manager data collection and financial reporting, where relevant.InvestmentsProvide financial modelling support for acquisitions or dispositions of fund assets, undertaking periodic updates to bid model and fund model structures.Leading and contributing to analytics on investment such as model development & review, contribution to Investment Committee papers, coordination with third party providers, and overall data management.Providing training and support to Asset Management & Investments team members on the use of bid model structures, and on any updates to those structures.Developing and updating standardised systems and processes to estimate potential carbon benefits associated with new investments.Providing analytics support to Asset Management team members undertaking analytics work on smaller investment deals. This may include internal review and modifications to model structure.Core AnalyticsWorking with the Investments Analytics team in developing indicative fund models to support fundraising, and provide ongoing analytics support to the fund raising process.Contribute to the continual improvement of existing analytics frameworks, and the development and implementation of new modelling tools and structures to support New Agriculture's existing business and business development opportunities.Coordinating and contributing to analytics relating to carbon reporting including development of consistent processes and frameworks for use by the Asset Management team and property managers.Development of consistent frameworks for accounting of non-financial outcomes from Fund assets and integration of those in Fund reporting.Qualifications, Experience and StrengthsWe are seeking candidates with the following:Minimum of 5 years professional experience in fund and or business financial modelling preferably in natural capital assets (i.e. forestry or agriculture).Tertiary qualifications in financial modelling and or commerce (or related discipline), or equivalent qualifications and relevant experience.Strong analytical ability, with demonstrated experience in fund modelling and operational financial data analysis.Familiarity with core financial modelling concepts including discounted cash flow analysis, financial statements, and internal rate of return, tax and structuring.An interest (or experience) in using data management tools such as Power BI, XP&A Platforms.Excellent time management and organisational skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to build strong relationships and work within a team environment.A personal interest in sustainable agriculture, and the role agriculture plays in the broader sustainability solution.Ability to travel, as required.How to ApplyWe pride ourselves on having a supportive New Forests culture that is inclusive to all and we would love to learn how you can bring your unique skills and experience to our business.
