Our client has experienced tremendous growth over the last 3 years and is now now looking for a Full Stack Developer who can support, maintain and help us identify areas of improvement with our existing tech projects, as well shape and build our upcoming ones.
You will appreciate good design and understand why the most successful technology-based products are created by teams who value solid research and user experience over what's currently fashionable.
Your responsibilities You'll be joining a team of researchers, UI and graphic designers, full-stack, back-end and front-end developers, and have the opportunity to review and improve upon existing codebases in a multitude of web languages and frameworks, including JavaScript (React, Vue, Angular and Vanilla ES6), SCSS, Java, and PHP, using custom built APIs for multi-platform integration.
We also maintain several older projects utilising more traditional technology stacks, including WordPress, Twig, jQuery and Gulp.
You'll need to be confident writing code in the majority of these languages and frameworks, or willing to learn them quickly.
A core responsibility will be assisting with the development of automated testing, unit tests and integrating these via CI/CD with our existing applications.
Previous experience with these tools such as JUnit, Selenium, Appium, Wraith, CodePipeline, Jenkins and Travis would be highly beneficial.
We're planning to implement code conventions across all of our applications, including automated compatibility checks when pushing to code repositories, so experience with these practices and knowledge of their implementation would be highly beneficial.
Our client is a fully-AWS outfit, so they require someone who understands the inner workings of EC2 instances, RDS platforms, S3 buckets, Route53 zones and VPS layers, as well as ensuring the software running on these environments is secure and up to date.
You'll also provide internal IT support such as server rack maintenance, LAN configuration, local and remote back-up solutions, VPN connectivity and firewalls if required.
Technical skills and experience 5 to 10 years relevant digital development experience Developing UI features and improving existing applications Understanding of design principles and ensuring the original vision is carried through Understanding of the importance of reusable components and design systems Understanding of User Experience and the importance of using known conventions Front-end technologies (HTML 5, CSS 3, ES6 and JS frameworks [React, Vue, Angular], TypeScript, Redux) Back-end technologies (PHP, Node.js, Java, mySQL, MariaDB, Linux) DevOps (AWS EC2, RDS, S3 and Route53) Code repositories and version control (GitHub) REST API design, development and integration (CRUD) Knowledge of CI/CD, unit tests and automated testing Knowledge of maintaining and implementing best security practices Knowledge of accessibility and best practices for web-based software solutions Familiarity with code formatters (Prettier, TSLint)
