Fire Project Manager | Fire Protection | Electrical & Mechanical Our client is a privately owned Australian business offering reliable, high-quality comprehensive fire solutions to their customers in all areas of the fire protection industry including portable extinguishers, hydrants and hose reels, special hazards, fire alarms, and sprinkler systems. They now seek the services of a talented Wet & Dry Fire Project Manager.
The Role
Project Managers oversee and manage all phases of wet and dry fire protection projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget. In this role, you will develop and implement strategies to achieve financial, business, and team goals. You will be responsible for leading and managing teams, maintaining a safe work environment, and fostering client relationships to maximise returns.
Responsibilities
Manage both wet and dry fire projects including planning, scope, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Lead project planning sessions and coordinate staff, subcontractors, trades, and labour requirements.
Oversee project progress and adapt work as required, ensuring effective management of multiple projects simultaneously.
Manage project variations, contract negotiations, and defect rectification.
Coordinate the purchasing and delivery of project supplies.
Ensure compliance reporting on all works undertaken.
Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Participate in the tender process including design, submission, and review.
Design and implement risk mitigation plans.
Conduct project reviews and create detailed reports for management.
Interpret building plans, regulations, and codes of practice to ensure proper methods and materials are used, and that specifications and regulations are followed.
About You
As an experienced Dry and Wet Fire Project Manager with a customer-focused "can do" attitude and excellent communication skills, you will also have:
Experience in both wet and dry fire project management and knowledge of NCC and Australian standards.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead project teams to successful completion.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting plans, drawings, specifications, and contracts.
Excellent organizational skills and proficiency in using all available time and resources.
Valid driver's license (manual preferred) and OHS construction Induction Card.
Ideally three to five years of project management experience (Project Management Qualification preferred).
Proficient in advanced CAD, HYENA calculations, and Microsoft Office.
QBCC accredited or licensed electrician.
