Financial Controller

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Financial Controller to join a high-performing team within a respected organisation. This role is critical in leading the company's finance operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and the delivery of timely financial reporting, while also driving operational excellence within the finance function.
As a key leader, you will work closely with senior stakeholders to support strategic decisions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax obligations, and reporting directives. This role offers the chance to shape and transform finance processes, positioning the team as a key enabler of the company's growth ambitions.
INCLUDED IN WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Oversee the financial accounting function, including month-end close, reconciliations, and production of accurate monthly results.
Ensure financial controls and reporting are accurate and timely.
Lead the transformation of finance processes to enhance team capabilities and operational efficiencies.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the finance team.
Provide technical accounting expertise and guidance to the team and stakeholders.
Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring alignment with company objectives and high levels of engagement.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements, including APRA, Payment Times Reporting, and SOX.
Manage Head Office reporting requirements, corporate expenses, and the consolidation of the company budget.
Oversee the annual external audit and financial statement preparation in adherence to Australian Accounting Standards.
Lead the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, identifying opportunities for process enhancements and team development.

WHAT YOU HAVE:

CA qualification with 8+ years of relevant experience.
Strong technical accounting expertise, particularly in Australian Accounting Standards.
Experience leading annual audit engagements and managing regulatory compliance (SOX, APRA, etc.).
Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team.
Strong understanding of financial controls and transformation of finance processes.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Knowledge of US GAAP and Power BI is desirable.
