What it's about Partners Group currently has an opening for a driven, technically adept, articulate and highly professional Financial Analyst to join the APAC Private Infrastructure direct investment team, based in Sydney. Working across Sydney, Singapore, and Mumbai, the APAC Private Infrastructure team has regional coverage responsibility across all infrastructure sectors and works closely with Partners Group Infrastructure teams in the US and Europe. Partners Group Direct Infrastructure is focused on thematic investing, and our sectors are grouped according to three overarching Giga Themes: (1) Decarbonisation & Sustainability, (2) New Living and (3) Digitisation & Automation. The Financial Analyst will be part of a seamless local and international Partners Group team working to review and source, select, acquire, manage and ultimately exit next generation infrastructure platform investments in APAC.
Reporting to the Senior Investment Leader, the Financial Analyst's specific role is to support the investment team in all aspects of the investment life cycle, including industry research, due diligence, investment committee paper preparation, transaction execution and portfolio company monitoring/management. The Financial Analyst will join a focused and growing APAC Infrastructure team with a strong track record, performing an important role in supporting infrastructure investment activity in Australia and throughout APAC for Partners Group.
What we expect
• Excellent financial analysis skills, including proficiency in financial modelling
• Superb quality written work product: coherent, persuasive with high attention to detail
• Application of critical thinking in prioritizing work and analyzing investment opportunities, remaining goal focused in a fast paced and dynamic transaction environment
• Strong team skills: ability to operate within team structures with clearly defined roles and responsibilities, and co-operate effectively with colleagues (locally and internationally)
• Ability to rapidly prepare and assimilate industry research from internal and external sources
• Construct accurate and detailed business unit centric LBO and project financial models, including: 3 statement financial analysis, capital structure analysis, entry and exit analysis, business case sensitivity analysis and other bespoke financial modelling as required
• Draft high quality, detailed investment committee reports while working alongside internal and external resources in the process
• Interact with third party advisory and due diligence providers (investment banks, management consultants, accounting and tax professionals, lawyers, technical consultants, etc.)
• Act proactively in all matters arising in the ordinary course of business, acting quickly to identify, address and correct issues
• Assist and support Investment Leaders in asset management and financial monitoring for portfolio companies
• Assist in identifying and evaluating strategic opportunities for portfolio companies such as acquisitions, divestitures, or entering new markets
• Role will suit a high caliber candidate with a background in investment banking, management consulting or direct investments, having 1-2 years' prior work experience
