About the Company: Kestrelis one of the world's largest producing underground coking, or metallurgical coal mines and produces around 7 million tonnes of metallurgical coal annually.
Our coal is shipped to key markets in Asia and Europe to be used in the steel making process.
The mine is located in the Bowen Basin, approximately 40km Northeast of Emerald in Central QLD.
Our team's capability covers the entire mining process, from development to extraction and processing, environmental management and sustainable rehabilitation.
We have an approved life of mine until 2033 and reserves to 2046 with the potential to increase further.

About the role: We are committed to continuous improvement, as a result we are currently seeking interest from Financial Accounting and Modelling professionals to join our Finance and Accounting team in a newly created role.
In this role you will be working a Monday to Friday roster based in our Brisbane Office with availability for a hybrid working arrangement.

Facilitating month-end accounting processes, including Foreign Exchange Reconciliation, Intercompany Reconciliation, Accounts Receivable Reconciliation, Labour Journals, and AASB16 Lease reporting.Assisting in the preparation and completion of the annual external audit.Managing capitalisation processes, including assessing and releasing capital expenditure (AFE) in SAP, documenting and distributing AFE forms, reviewing monthly capitalisation submissions, and maintaining the asset register.Preparing and delivering reports, including Quarterly Lender Reports, Debt Covenant Calculations, financial submissions to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, and compiling General Ledger Reconciliations.Management Reporting Support: Assisting with monthly forecasting processes, including updating financial models and generating related reports.Managing SAP Analytics Cloud for effective financial data analysis and reporting.Preparing shareholder reports and developing presentation slide packs for key stakeholders.Supporting the annual budgeting process to ensure alignment with financial objectives.Your role will be integral to maintaining the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of financial and management reporting systems, contributing directly to the organisation's strategic goals.
About you: A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial accounting, showcasing your expertise in managing financial processes and reporting.Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modelling, with the ability to analyse data and deliver insights effectively.CA or CPA qualification, demonstrating your advanced knowledge and commitment to professional standards.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, ensuring efficiency in documentation and reporting.Experience with SAP and Power BI is highly regarded, adding value through system expertise and data visualization skills.Solid understanding of accounting principles and the interaction of financial statements to support accurate and meaningful reporting.Foundational knowledge of corporate finance, including senior debt facilities and covenants, to contribute to strategic financial decision-making.At Kestrel, we are ONE.
