Systems Accounting & IT Audit (Accounting)The Finance Systems Manager is responsible for the management of the Downer Financial Systems and related policies and processes, to ensure that Downer operates efficiently, effectively and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.The purpose of the Finance Systems Manager is to ensure strategies, processes, and resources are in place to safeguard the integrity, availability, accuracy, and security of data, optimizing workflows and supporting business decision-making.The role will collaborate regularly with senior leaders across operational and functional areas as well as with external audit partners.Responsibilities:Providing leadership for the finance systems function, including accounting, reporting, ERP, and data management systems.Collaborating across Downer business units and corporate functions to identify, prioritize, and implement ERP improvements.Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the finance systems team, ensuring the efficient functioning of financial systems.Driving the implementation of best practice in processes surrounding financial systems to increase automation and improve control framework.Identifying and mitigating risks associated with finance systems, data security, and compliance.Managing system upgrades, patches, and troubleshooting to resolve technical issues with relevant functional stakeholders (e.g., IT/Finance).Developing and implementing data management strategies and policies to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security, including:Correct functioning of implemented Downer Financial Systems such as SAP, JDEGS, JDE 9.1 (NZ), JDE 9.0 (NZ), KOFAX, and Concur.Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and internal policies.Ensuring required data in Downer Financial Systems is accurately captured and available to support required reporting.Development and management of consistent processes related to ERP setup, including but not limited to project definition (chart of accounts, project categorization, billing definition & WIP rules), budget/forecast loads, resource setup (including standard costing requirements for labour and plant), and supplier onboarding to ERP (including supplier pre-qualifications, supplier price catalogues, and subcontractor agreements/SORs).About You:Degree in Accounting, Finance, IT, or Data Related Discipline.Completion or working towards CPA/CA (desirable).5 years+ experience in data and/or systems management, system administration, or related field, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.Demonstrated experience in leading the implementation of a data governance framework, including policy and process development, within a large, complex organization.Strong knowledge of data management principles, data governance, privacy, and data security, including knowledge of potential risks and the regulatory landscape.Experience in management or financial accounting, including group consolidations.Experience engaging with and influencing stakeholders to drive successful change management.Experience in management of financial systems and related processes.Team management and development.Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders at all levels of the Downer Group.At Downer, our approach to diversity is what sets us apart.
