About the roleReporting to the Senior Manager (SM) Program Controlling, this Manager role takes carriage of financial forecasting and performance reporting processes in line with guidelines set by Airbus.
By embedding the role within the Business, the Manager is empowered to link business drivers with financial insights in order to drive profit and working capital optimisation, and deliver strategic financial advice to inform pricing and margin models within the development of Customer solutions and commercial decisions in the Business.This Finance & Controlling Manager is responsible for the integrity of the Business Financial Performance by providing financial leadership within the Surveillance & Response Program (SRP), promoting financial controls over the planning and reporting process, whilst delivering strategic financial advice to drive financial performance.
Acting as an independent business partner, the role interacts with all levels of the organisation in order to develop an in-depth understanding of business drivers that contribute to financial success, and is the first point of escalation for finance critical issues and has cross functional awareness of potential risks and opportunities within the Business.
About youTo be successful in this role, it is a requirement to be able to work in a team environment, have well developed stakeholder engagement and expectation management skills as well as good verbal and written skills.You will need to be someone who is able to work autonomously and to tight deadlines and work comfortably in a continuous improvement work environment.The qualifications required for this role include: Degree in Finance, Accounting, or similar, or equivalent relevant experienceMembership of professional accounting body (CPA/CA) The knowledge and experience best suited to this role include: Minimum 5 years in a finance or management accounting position with experience across multiple complex businessesIn-depth knowledge of budget development processes and analysis financial reporting, accounting standards and control frameworks; and knowledge of financial control/management, business intelligence reporting and systems, financial methodologies and best practices including activity-based accounting, EVM/VOWD, work-packaging etc.In-depth understanding of Business performance measurement including reporting needs of Program Managers to enable decision making and influence performanceExperience in working with performance-based contracts and development of associated pricing strategies to support business development opportunities and maximising shareholder value within contractual mechanismsProven Business partner (propose and deliver solutions, develop networks, shorten results delivery cycle, understand "external" customer satisfaction levers)Experience in people management and leading a united team in the achievement of measurable results and strategic goalsHigh degree of proficiency in SAP/ERP systems and ability to educate/train others on functionality and capability You will also be able to demonstrate the following skills and abilities: Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify pragmatic cost-saving opportunities; and superior financial, analytical, forecasting and reporting skills; including strategic problem-solving skillsFit-for-purpose mindset including the ability to balance administrative burden with data-driven decision makingAbility to provide financial advice in the development and analysis of business cases including make/buy decisions, pricing of offers and commercial bid assessmentsAn influential, confident, and open communicator with the ability to convey messages clearly, concisely and persuasivelyDemonstrated ability to maintain professional independence, with a well-developed sense of ethics and an ability to stand up for these principles, despite conflicting priorities within a matrix organisationStrong short-interval planning/control and management accounting skills Applicants must be eligible for an Australian Government Negative Vetting 1 Security Clearance and have the capacity to satisfy pre-employment medical screening which may include drug and alcohol testing.About AirbusWith a 50-year track record of innovation, technological firsts and industry milestones, Airbus is a leader in designing, manufacturing and delivering aerospace products, services and solutions to a customer base that spans the globe – with operations for commercial aircraft, helicopters, defence, space and security.
