We are seeking an experienced High Risk Trainer Assessor for an opportunity out of Newman working for a major Tier 1 miner on an 8:6 roster working 12 hours per shift.

Roster: 8:6 - day shifts only
Expected start date: January 2025 (or earlier)
Contract duration: Long-term/ongoing with the potential to become permanent. - This role is to backfill someone that is on a long-term leave
Reporting to the Processing Services Coordinator, this role is responsible for contributing to the training and assessment of operational roles and activities across Newman Operations (excluding Load & Haul), this includes Mobile Equipment Maintenance, Fixed Plant Maintenance & Processing Production teams. The roster for this role is 8 on / 6 off day shift only, FIFO from Perth or based residentially in the township of Newman.
Your key deliverables include, but are not limited to:
Working with execution leaders, particularly Supervisors, to help build the required capabilities within their teams to maintain safety and performance during operations.
Conduct routine safety activities and verifications to effectively prepare for and manage operational workload
Review, design and deliver training plans, training material and training programs to ensure Safety, compliance and performance in line with business and industry standards
Carry out performance verifications against standards at the frontline including coaching others in assessment and verification processes
Continuous monitoring of crews' performance via matrix and other applications and initiating the necessary input or support to ensure standards are achieved and maintained
Build a strong interface with our key customers (Mining Equipment Maintenance, Fixed Plant Maintenance and Processing Production) and strive to meet their needs
Prioritise to achieving 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste of operational roles and activities

Additionally, you will have:
High risk qualifications, possess any of the High Risk Work License (HRWL) classes; Forklift (LF); Elevated Work Platform (WP); Non-Slewing Crane (CN); any Slewing Mobile Crane classes; Vehicle Loading Crane (CV); Dogging (DG); Rigging Basics (RB); working safely at heights; enter and work in confined space with gas test atmospheres
Hold a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment TAE40116 or TAE40122
A strong background in Mobile Equipment Maintenance and/or Fixed Plant Maintenance or construction
Current HR Class Driver's License (essential or willing to gain)
Current HC Class Driver's License (desirable)
Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and work both independently and as part of a team.
Proven experience and skills in the use of technology in managing work processes, data capture and compliance reporting;
Working knowledge of Learning Management principles
Experience with and understanding of training and verification of participant competency in the workplace
