We are seeking to recruit an experienced Field Service Technician / Mechanic to join our supportive and friendly team in Sydney. As one of our Field Service Technicians, you will play a vital role in commissioning, servicing, and repairing Normets and, occasionally, clients' underground machines.
Our clients' sites are approximately an hour's drive from our Branch in Wetherill, so you'll be able to go home every night!
What we offer: Permanent full-time position, offering job securityWork between 55 - 60 hours per week, Monday to FridayCompetitive hourly rate between $60 - $62 per hour, flat rate for all hours worked, plus 11.5% superOpportunity to work with BEVs and cutting-edge mining technologyAccess to local and global technology and training programsBattery Electric Vehicle training and industry insightsSupportive team culture and engaging work environmentEmployee Assistance Program, Rewards & Recognition, and Years of Service ProgramsTo shine in this position, you will need: Certificate III Fitter or equivalent (Mechanical/Diesel/Marine/Transport/Agricultural) with a minimum of 3 years industry experienceAvailable to work between 55 - 60 hours per week when working on site, while training in the workshop, hours will be 48 - 55 hours per weekExperience in modification and repairs of heavy mobile equipmentStrong mechanical knowledge and experience with a high level of problem-solving and diagnostic skillsAbility to read CAD engineer drawings, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical schematicsPrevious underground experience is highly desirableDriver's license is essential along with full working rights in AustraliaThe successful candidate must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment medical and obtain a National Police Clearance before commencement. Responsibilities: Conducting on-site commissioning, servicing, and repairs of Normets and Clients underground machines:
Modification and/or repair of vehicle systems including: chassis, drivelines, engines, transmissions, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electricsManufacturing and fitting of electrical and mechanical componentsTesting and adjusting of all mechanical hydraulics, circuits, and pneumatic componentsFault finding, repairing, replacing, and providing technical adviceInspection, analysis, and recording critical mechanical information during the process of undertaking mechanical refurbishment workAll work to be performed safely and at a level of quality acceptable to both Normet and customer expectationsAt Normet, we believe our employees are the heart and soul of our company.
