Permanent full-timeWork 4 days & have 3 days off$85,000 plus superannuationExtensive training providedUniform and relevant safety equipment providedApplicants must have full work rights in Australia (sorry, not suitable for students or working holiday visa holders)About the Role Darwalla is seeking a motivated Supervisor to work in our modern chicken hatchery located in Allora, between Toowoomba & Warwick. The hatchery can operate 7 days per week, but you will generally be required to work a minimum of 38 hours per week, over 4 days/week with 5.30am starts. Applicants should have a flexible approach to changing work times/days and working overtime as and when production requires, so having your own reliable transport is a must.
The successful candidates will be required to carry out a wide range of tasks including effective supervision of a team, daily duties allocation, data entry, accurate preparation and completion of production documentation, egg setting and transfer, chick take-off and processing, vaccine preparation, and various cleaning jobs. The work will be quite physical, so applicants must be fit and healthy. A pre-employment medical will be undertaken.
The successful candidates will perform Hatchery "On Call" out of hours duties for 1 full week on a rotational basis, which will require you to stay in close proximity to the Hatchery at all times while on call (maximum 5 minutes drive). If required, accommodation will be provided whilst on call.
The poultry industry has very strict bio-security and animal welfare standards, so all employees are restricted from keeping pet birds, poultry, and pigs and residing with others who work at other poultry or are involved with pig farming/hunting. The hatchery is a shower-on, shower-off facility.
