TIA GLOBAL is working with an established hospitality venue located in Newcastle, NSW who are currently seeking an enthusiastic, talented, and hard-working Sous Chef or Chef.
Whether it be an afternoon drink or an intimate dinner, we aim to be a landmark that will deliver a new culinary and service experience to our members and guests.
The Positions
Our client is seeking highly motivated, experienced and passionate Sous Chef/Chef to join the team.
The ideal candidate will be overseeing kitchen operations, preparing and cooking dishes according to established recipes and ensuring that dishes are of the highest quality whilst meeting food safety standards.
The successful candidate will have a passion for cooking, strong leadership skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in preparing, cooking, and serving main meals, snacks, desserts and other food products in accordance with the menu and on occasion preparing "off-menu" items.
Do so in a thorough and efficient manner.
Clean and maintain the cooking and preparation areas and tools as required, and always after each service period.
Supervise and provide directions for cooks and kitchen hands.
Ensure food safety of dishes served to guests with special dietaries (allergies, intolerances).
Receive and check the quality of cooking materials.
Ensure sufficient quantity and quality of the food before serving.
Maintain correct storage of food.
Ideal Candidates
Be experienced in a similar high-volume casual dining venue, preferably upmarket pubs, hotels, or restaurants.
Have the flexibility necessary to work days, nights, and weekends.
Possession of a highly relevant Certificate IV (or equivalent).
At least 2 years post qualification experience.
Ability to work in a fast-paced/flexible environment.
Preference will be placed on applicants with unrestricted work rights.
Above all else, have a passion for great food and great customer service.
