Full time, continuing position with the University of Sydney Experience Executive Officer with a commencement in January 2025 Base Salary $140,913 - $148,684 + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Executive Officer provides operational management and strategic support to the Executive Office in University Infrastructure. This role will guide and coordinate the Executive Office, including the prioritisation of information and workflow, and manage the effective scheduling, communication, planning and tracking of actions from regular Chief University Infrastructure Officer (CUIO), UI Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Committee meetings.
The Executive Officer provides high-level support to the Chief University Infrastructure Officer (CUIO) and the UI Executive Leadership Team (ELT). They report to the Director Engagement and will have a very close working relationship with the CUIO, meeting and interacting daily, with a focus on maximising effective executive administration to support the CUIO's performance of their role, and the wider University mission.
The Executive Officer will manage the Executive Assistant to ensure the full suite of professional executive support services to the CUIO and Director Engagement are delivered in a highly efficient and effective manner.
Your key responsibilities will be to :
provide operational and administrative management for the UI Executive Office including effective planning, delegating, coordinating, staffing, organising, and decision making to ensure financial and operational objectives and goals are reached engage in critical analysis of proposals, reports, and in examining the more complex, non-routine cases on which decisions are required prepare and present discussion papers on a broad range of issues for ELT review, inclusive of appropriate and relevant analysis, business strategy and final recommendations oversee the provision of broad, high level professional executive support to the Chief University Infrastructure Officer and the Director Engagement maintain governance and control and key compliance requirements ensure quality application of, and compliance with, University administrative policies and procedures About you: postgraduate qualifications in business administration or related field with relevant experience in business administration and/or equivalent combination of relevant training and experience. demonstrated experience at a senior level in the preparation and provision of responsive, clear, and concise specialist advice, recommendations, and solutions both verbally and in writing, through effective research, negotiation, and consultation with key stakeholders demonstrated ability to work both with a considerable degree of autonomy, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work proven strong critical thinker, problem solver, respected communicator, and performer in a highly complex, political, and competitive environment previously worked in the higher education/tertiary sector or at a complex, multi-faceted organisation is highly desirable.
