The opportunity As the Executive Manager of Strategy and Insights, you will be at the forefront of our strategic planning process. Collaborating closely with the Board and C-Suite, you will curate and facilitate the development of the Fund's strategy, ensuring we remain agile and responsive to key macro forces and market trends. Your vital analysis and insights will help identify opportunities and risks, guiding strategic decisions that drive growth and value for both employers and members.
In overseeing Fund Strategy and Business Intelligence, this role ensures that strategic initiatives are seamlessly aligned with broader organisational goals, making the Hostplus strategy both insightful and actionable. By delivering data-driven insights and performance metrics, the Executive Manager empowers leadership to make informed decisions, enhancing the Fund's ability to navigate an ever-evolving industry landscape and maintain its competitive edge.

The ideal candidate will blend a strategic mindset with analytical precision to elevate the organisation's current strategies while also envisioning and shaping the future trajectory of the Fund.
Some Key Responsibilities: Guide the strategic planning process across the organization, including the analysis of market trends, competitive landscape, and internal capabilities to identify risks and opportunities that could impact the Fund's future growth and capacity.Craft and present data-driven strategic plans and insights to the Board, CEO, and C-suite team, ensuring alignment with long-term organizational objectives.Collaborate with key stakeholders to design and implement growth and retention strategies that enhance value for employers and members, supporting business cases that drive innovation and competitive advantage.Organise and deliver regular key strategic forums involving the C-suite, the CEO, and the Board to ensure alignment on the Fund's strategic direction.Actively manage risk indicators and ensure compliance with regulatory obligations, liaising with relevant regulatory bodies as required.Provide leadership, training, development, and coaching to all staff within the span of control, ensuring they meet role requirements and minimising voluntary turnover.Foster a high-performance culture by developing specialist skill sets within the team, achieving high levels of staff engagement, satisfaction and retention.About you 10+ years extensive experience in management, business consulting, or within the superannuation and/or financial services industry, with a focus on strategy and insights.Extensive experience in strategic planning and analysis with a proven track record in developing and implementing long-term corporate and business strategies.Sound understanding of the superannuation or financial services sector with in-depth knowledge of the superannuation or financial services landscape, including competitor products, investment and insurance products, and the implications of policy development and legislative reform.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with advanced quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a high performing team within a rapidly changing, highly competitive industry.Strong business judgment and commercial acumen, with the ability to make sound decisions based on a deep understanding of market dynamics.Proven ability to communicate effectively, producing high-quality written communications and reports.A strategic thinker who displays a high degree of intellect, analysis, and lateral thinking.Strong business planning capabilities, with a focus on aligning operational delivery with the Fund strategy.A bachelor's degree in management, business, or a related discipline is essential.What can we offer you?
