About the SchemeThe Industrial Chemicals Act 2019 establishes the Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme (AICIS) to regulate the importation and manufacture (introduction) of industrial chemicals in Australia. AICIS helps protect the Australian people and the environment by assessing the risks of industrial chemicals and providing information publicly and to Commonwealth, state and territory regulators to promote their safe use.About the RoleAICIS Principal Scientists are primarily responsible for providing scientific leadership in chemistry, toxicology and risk assessment, operating in a matrix style to deliver their responsibilities across the whole organisation.
