You will apply data modelling techniques to a variety of operational activities ranging from predicting asset reliability through to real-time anomaly detection.

Reward and Recognition Program Salary Package of up to $138, 000 plus Superannuation The Opportunity As the Data Scientist you will be responsiblefor undertaking analysis on operational performance and developing tools toenhance decision making, predict performance and optimise processes. You will work closely with stakeholders and the data teams to define project requirements, develop the analytical framework, identify data processing needs and determine the most effective deployment solution.
What you'll do: Collaborate with stakeholders on defining analytical requirements and business requirements for data analysis.
Design, implement, evaluate, document, maintain and optimise machine learning and statistical models.
Undertake and contribute to the design, development and documentation of data warehouses, data transformations and pipelines to support models.
Utilise data visualization tools to present insights and findings to stakeholders, including presenting complex analytical concepts to people from non-technical teams. Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring and on-the-job training for business teams on the use of data, analytical techniques and prediction modelling to solve business problems. Support change (and change management) to improve organisational performance.
Identify business challenges and continue to explore new methodologies and technologies to enhance data analysis. What you'll need to be successful: Bachelor, Masters or higher degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Statistics, Engineering or Mathematics.
Demonstrated experience in data science, machine learning, and statistical modelling with diverse datasets using Python/SQL/R in a commercial environmental to solve business problems.
Demonstrated knowledge of modelling techniques and processes for time-series data.
End-to-end data science execution including scoping, building, testing, implementation, maintenance, tracking and optimisation of predictive models. Hands-on experience building data and analytical models with Azure, Snowflake and Databricks.
Experience building and deploying models and data transformation pipelines in cloud environments.
Experience working with water utility asset or SCADA data.
