The Director of Planning and Investment Management is responsible for:
Managing IT Division's contributions to external Budget processes and compliance with related Digital Transformation Agency requirements.Delivery of IT Front Door services, capturing high level business requirements and transitioning work to IT Division's delivery and enabling teams.Divisional Business Planning, linking services and projects to available funding, and developing investment bids with IT Division's branches.Managing the department's SES Investment Working Group in partnership with Financial Management Division.Position Duties: The Director of Planning and Investment Management manages a section of APS and contractor staff with the following responsibilities:
Coordinating IT solution designs and cost estimates for external Budget processes.Maintaining the division's external Budget cost model and related processes.Providing IT Front Door services, overseeing the introduction of new software and hardware products, capturing high level requirements, and channelling new work requests to ITD's main vendor, Datacom. This also includes end to end management of services that are co-delivered with several technical and enabling teams, reporting, and participation in divisional governance boards.Coordinating the division's annual business planning process, linking services with available funding, informing executive decision making on resource allocations, and preparing investment bids.Managing the department's SES Investment Working Group that oversees allocation of the Departmental Capital Budget and Investment Reserve with Financial Management Division partners.To be eligible for employment with the Department of Health and Aged Care, applicants must be an Australian citizen at the time an offer of employment is made.
An applicant's suitability for employment with Health and Aged Care will also be assessed through a variety of pre-employment check processes, such as:
Satisfactory completion of a criminal history check, and where relevant, a Working with Children and Vulnerable People Check, Completion of a medical declaration and pre-employment medical (where required), Providing evidence of qualifications (where required), and Obtaining and maintaining a security clearance at the required level. For this role applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance or hold a current security clearance at an appropriate level.

Remote working is possible and is negotiated with your manager on commencement. Flexibility can be negotiated with your manager to balance your personal and professional needs with the needs of your role and business area. While most of our employees work 2-3 days in the office, our policy requires a minimum of one day a week in the office.
