Executive Group Manager, Finance and Infrastructure
Full-time ExecutiveDetails: The Education Directorate has a has a long-term vacancy commencing September 2024 for a period of five years to fill the position of Executive Group Manager, Finance and Infrastructure.
The Executive Group Manager, Finance and Infrastructure is a member of the Executive Governance Committee (EGC). The EGC provides strategic leadership for the ACT in school education and early childhood education and care.
Working directly to the Director-General, the Executive Group Manager, Finance and Infrastructure leads a team of senior management specialists in finance, school facilities and asset management, and small and large scale capital works programs. The provision of strategic leadership to ensure the delivery of high quality and relevant financial and asset services is key to this position.
The Executive Group Manager, Finance and Infrastructure must have a comprehensive understanding of effective public sector governance, be able to provide strategic commercial advice, and lead complex projects and programs of work. Experience in complex procurements and business case development is also an important aspect of this role.
The Executive Group Manager, Finance and Infrastructure will work with the Director-General and the ACT Government to:
Provide high quality policy and strategic advice to the Minister and government;Oversee capital works investment and ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of both new infrastructure and upgrade projects;Oversee the management of school facilities to provide safe, inclusive, quality learning environments for students, including the prioritisation of repairs and maintenance;Lead the management of Directorate's budget and the development of high-quality business cases for Government consideration; andOversee the Directorate's strategic procurement function, as well as ensure the development of high-quality tender documentation for the procurement of services.The Executive Group Manager, Finance and Infrastructure role requires a person with exceptional leadership, administrative, analytical and management skills. An ability to collaborate and work with clients, stakeholders and colleagues across the ACT Public Service is also required.
The Executive Group Manager, Finance and Infrastructure must have a comprehensive understanding of effective public sector governance, be able to provide strategic commercial advice, and lead complex projects and programs of work.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate leadership in strategic public policy and inter-governmental relations. Experience in dealing with an extensive range of policy, people management, government, the wider community and business is essential.

Remuneration: The position attracts a remuneration package ranging from $344,954 - $358,775 depending on current superannuation arrangements of the successful applicant. This includes a cash component of $307,134. Contract: The successful applicant will be engaged under a performance-based long-term contract for a period of up to five years.
