Justice and Community Safety Directorate Audit - Internal (Accounting)Government - State (Government & Defence) Salary Range: $97,182 - $110,708 (PN: 47900)The Audit and Risk Officer will work with the Assistant Director, Internal Audit and Risk in leading, developing and delivering the internal audit functions of the Justice and Community Safety Directorate within the ACT Government. The Internal Audit Officer is specifically responsible for delivering secretariat support for the Directorate's Audit and Risk Committee, including minute taking, following up on action items and maintaining the recommendation register. The position also helps to manage outsourced internal audit providers and the delivery of internal compliance and assurance reviews.The Internal Audit Officer will:Undertake secretariat functions for the Audit and Risk Committee.Individually, or as a member of a small team, undertake reviews and compliance checks as scheduled in the Internal Audit Program.Assist with the coordination of complex audits and reviews through the procurement of specialist external service providers.Maintain a range of audit databases, including the coordination and quality assurance of updates from business units on the status of recommendations.Research, analyse and present information associated with current practices in internal audit in order to develop relevant procedures and policies.Assist with activities associated with the internal audit and risk function.Prepare high quality written briefs and reports to the JACS Executive as required, including briefings on insurance statistics.Develop and foster effective working relationships across the Justice and Community Safety Directorate and external stakeholders to achieve effective outcomes.This position does not involve direct supervision of staff.Eligibility/Other Requirements: Knowledge, experience and qualifications relevant to an internal audit role will be highly regarded but are not essential.Notes: This is a permanent position available immediately. An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months. This position will be based at a workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
